How group therapy works
Group Therapy works in many ways, partly by members helping each other to feel less alone with their problems, partly through offering alternative points of view, and partly through the way it can slow down the processes of communication, when stopping to reflect would in normal life be very difficult or impossible.
That opportunity to build trust with others and then observe and address the way we relate is unique to groups, and especially valuable in an increasingly fragmented, isolated, fast-moving and complex world.

The group
Before joining
Therapy groups consist of up to eight members but are sometimes smaller. Before joining the group, you would have three individual sessions (sometimes more) in which to think about how it might feel for you, what you would want to gain from the group, and to explore your questions and expectations, as well as for Sarah to assess your suitability for working in the group.
